Wind Power Generation
Especially in coastal areas and higher elevations, wind power generation can be an attractive opportunity for those who consume significant amounts of electricity. In fact, the larger the wind turbine installation; the cheaper the resulting power generation will be.
Wind power generation won't be for everyone, but certainly makes sense for many candidates. Utility buy-back systems, or "grid tie" systems, allow you to sell your excess electricity during windy periods to offset or completely counter your eclectic needs during low wind periods when the turbine is not producing.
For off-grid applications, where no utility connection is used or available, a battery will be required. The battery is charged during windy periods and provides power when the wind is insufficient. Solar/wind hybrid systems are also available for areas with high variability of wind.
