Light Bulb Cost Per 1000hr Calculator

The cost of operating a light bulb depends on how long you leave it on per day. Since this varied not only from person to person, but even day to day with a singe person, the simplest way to compare bulbs is to calculate the cost for a specific period of time. Since the cost of operating any one bulb at a time fairly low, we have chosen a period of 1000 hours. That's about 250 days if you run the bulb for four hours a day. This cost per 1000 hours (CP1k) includes the cost of bulb itself, the cost of the power it consumes during its life. Lower CP1k is better! For discussion of light bulbs click here
